About The Henderson Group:Henderson Group Family-owned Henderson Group are the owners of the SPAR, EUROSPAR, VIVO and VIVOXTRA franchises in Northern Ireland and have been distributing food and grocery-related products to the convenience retail sector for over 100 years.
Henderson Group introduced symbol group trading to Northern Ireland and is now the largest operator of its kind in the country, supplying over 400 stores.
In 1960, the business was awarded the SPAR franchise for Northern Ireland. Today, there are almost 400 SPAR stores in operation across the Province as well as approximately 100 VIVO stores.
EUROSPAR and VIVOXTRA are Hendersons’ two large store formats, aimed to cater for the weekly family shop. There are currently 14 EUROSPAR and 6 VIVOXTRA stores in Northern Ireland, with new stores planned throughout the coming year. This is a large area of growth for the Henderson Group business.
Henderson Wholesale boasts 230,000 sq feet of ambient, fresh and frozen warehousing, situated outside Belfast at Mallusk, and offers over 5,000 ambient lines, 1,200 fresh food lines and 500 frozen food lines to the retailer. The company employs 2,300 through its network of company-owned stores and at its headquarters in Mallusk.
A redevelopment of the corporate identity of the Henderson Group was announced in March 2005. The Henderson Group consists of four indigenous companies, each of which operate under the Henderson name - Henderson Wholesale (which incorporates Henderson Print), Henderson Retail, Henderson Group Property and Henderson Foodservice.
