Northern Ireland Hospice
About Northern Ireland Hospice:
Northern Ireland Hospice is a local charity caring for local people. Each year 3,000 patients and their families receive our care both in hospice and in their own home. Every patient is special to us. From the youngest to the oldest, we care. Our service is about making things better for people in Northern Ireland. It’s about helping and supporting them through tough times.
We care for adults, children and young people living in Northern Ireland with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses and support their families and carers. Hospice recognises that people are more than their illness and that care has to take account of emotional, social and spiritual issues as well as addressing the concerns of family and friends who are also facing loss.
Our service is much more than pain and symptom control but also pays attention to the individual and helps them in a way appropriate to them. It is flexible and adaptable, much more than buildings, it is a way of caring, and in many situations care can be given at home.
Adult Hospice services are based at Somerton Road, Belfast and Children’s Hospice services at Horizon House, O’Neill Road, Newtownabbey.
Northern Ireland Hospice is committed to continuing to deliver the high standards of care for which it is renowned. Leaders in palliative and end of life care, our education and research portfolio is constantly expanding to meet the changing needs in today’s Health Service and beyond.
