About Barnardo's (NI):
Barnardo’s has been working in Northern Ireland for over 105 years; we opened our first soup kitchen in Great Victoria Streetin 1899. We no longer run orphanages but work with children and their families in communities throughout Northern Ireland.
With over 480 full-time and part-time staff we are Northern Ireland’s largest children’s charity, working in over 40 services with 11,000 children, young people and their families. Our pioneering services are wide-ranging but all share a commitment to improving children’s lives.
Barnardo’s believes that the lives of children should be free from poverty, abuse and discrimination, and that the future of society depends on children. We work with the most vulnerable children and young people helping them to transform their lives and fulfill their potential. We give children the chance to be children and help them to develop into healthy, rounded adults.
