About Aughnacloy House:
Aughnacloy House is a 71 bed purpose built Nursing Home located in Lurgan, County Armagh, within walking distance of the town centre, that caters for persons who are Elderly Frail, Physically Disabled or suffer from Dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease.
We provide full nursing care in this location to persons who are too ill to live at home, in a friendly homely atmosphere. All the single bedrooms are decorated brightly and have their own en-suite facilities. Residents are encouraged to bring their own possessions to the home to promote a sense of belonging and to make the transition to residential care easier.
In addition to the bedrooms, Aughnacloy House is equipped with a selection of day rooms, dining rooms and assisted bathroom facilities. We also have our own on site hairdressing salon and shop where residents can purchase small items.
The main focus of the staff in the home is of course the care of the resident. Our staff team of trained nurses, care assistants and support staff, led by the home manager, are committed to delivering person-centred care to the residents. They are supported in their roles with on-going training including National Vocational Qualifications.
The Activities Therapist organises the social activity within the home. This includes armchair exercises, craft, reminiscence and trips out. The home is supported by local churches that organise religious services regularly and offer pastoral care to the residents if they desire it.
