Project Manager (waste and recycling) required by a Charity based in Belfast on a 2 year fixed contract basis

Our client primarily work within the following sectors:
Food and drink;
Clothing and textiles;
Electricals and electronics.
Our client view resource management as a key priority and undertake research, compiling and analysing and in turn creating consumer campaigns to promote awareness with the aim of changing behaviours.
Your new role
Alongside the small team currently operating in Northern Ireland, our client are keen to add a Project Manager on a fixed term basis until March 2019. This role will manage projects for the NI team to include a range of activities from planning to successful delivery, coordinating events, campaigns, communications and ensuring that external media is up-to- date and relevant.
To be successful in this role, you will need to work flexibly, developing and supporting key partnerships with businesses, community groups, charities and local authorities in Northern Ireland to encourage waste prevention, re-use and recycling activities by individuals and businesses.
Key duties will include:
Work flexibly as part of the Northern Ireland team to deliver key activities, campaigns and partnership development activities;
Support the Northern Ireland Team in the development and delivery of a waste and recycling communications strategy for NI, including the delivery of regular National Campaign Advisory Panel meetings;
Manage a portfolio of projects, partnership initiatives and direct campaign delivery activities to support increased waste prevention, re-use and recycling;
Ensure delivery on time and to budget with achievement of agreed communication activities and outputs;
Share best practice in campaign project management, contract management and internal processes and systems to ensure effective and consistent delivery in the team;
Produce reports for the team including project plans, to monitor and evaluate project impacts and to provide regular progress reports.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position you must satisfy the following criteria:
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written;
Ability to build positive working relationships with stakeholders;
Self-motivated and evidence of successfully working flexibly in a small, busy team;
Educated to degree level or with relevant project management experience;
Able to demonstrate an understanding of household waste recycling from a householder perspective;
Competent with IT packages including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Ideally, you will possess:
A degree in environmental topics, resource efficiency or materials science;
Demonstrable knowledge / a strong interest in the environment and environmental issues;
Knowledge of digital platform content management.
