Construction Project Managers required to work on an ongoing contract basis with a large Public Body across NI

The services of Hays have been retained by our client, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE), to recruit Project Managers to join their Asset Management / Project Delivery teams throughout Northern Ireland on an ongoing temporary contract basis.
Your new role
You will assist the Senior Project Manager to manage and co-ordinate the regions planned maintenance programme and assist the Senior Project Manager in the strategic delivery of an effective regional based planned and cyclical maintenance programme.
Your main duties will include:
To ensure the planned maintenance service is delivered in accordance with the NIHE's policies and procedures; Leading on project management of complex and large projects to time, quality and budget targets;
Briefing consultants and contractors, negotiating appointments and shaping the project;
Drawing up realistic timetables and ensuring projects meet time targets without compromising quality;
Carrying out feasibilities and option appraisals and maintaining systems to monitor project costs;
Assessing risks and progressing schemes swiftly and systematically to overcome risks.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered you should possess:
A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Building / Construction / Technical Discipline plus 2 years' relevant experience, or;
A relevant BTEC Higher Cert/Diploma or qualification of an equivalent academic level plus 3 years' relevant experience in a Building / Construction / Technical Discipline.
Exceptionally, candidates who do not meet the qualification requirements, but who can demonstrate that they have 5 years' relevant experience within a Building / Construction / Technical Discipline may also be considered.
For the purpose of shortlisting, candidates must demonstrate their relevant experience for the number of years required in 6 of the following 9 areas:
Responsibility for designated budgets and ensuring proper financial controls are in place with planned maintenance contracts;
The collection, analysis and reporting of performance monitoring statistics detailing performance, quality and cost data;
Producing, recording and monitoring performance reports to ensure Key Performance Indicators are achieved; The provision of technical advice and guidance on planned maintenance and contract related matters to a range of stakeholders;
Implementation of policies, processes and procedures for compliance;
Working knowledge of NEC 3 Suite of Contract;
Ensure that projects are properly managed and delivered in line with the agreed targets, standards and procedures;
Working in a governance controlled environment where you have provided assurance to your organisation; Experience in identifying risks, helping maintain a risk register and mitigating risk.
