Housing Officer required on a temporary contract basis for 6 months by a large Housing Association

Your new company
The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a large Housing Association with properties throughout Northern Ireland, to recruit a Housing Officer on a temporary contract basis. This position offers an immediate start and will run for an initial period of 6 months with the possibility of further extension.

Your new role
Reporting to the Housing Manager, you will ensure that an efficient, effective, customer orientated and comprehensive housing management service is provided to applicants and Housing Association tenants.

You will work across the following key areas:

Estate Management;
Allocations and Void Management;
Income Recovery.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position you must possess:

A third level qualification or be educated to A' Level standard (or equivalent) with a professional Housing qualification and 1 year's relevant experience with a social landlord or local authority, or;
A' level qualifications or equivalent with 2 years relevant experience in a Housing Officer role with a social landlord or local authority;
Knowledge of current social housing policy and issues;
Experience in business use of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Ideally you will possess:

Knowledge of working practices within housing organisations providing social housing;
Working knowledge of the welfare benefit system and e-benefits;
Working Knowledge of NIHE HMS system.

This position offers an immediate start with the opportunity to work with a large Housing Association. Whilst the initial contract is offered for a period of 6 months, there is the possibility of further extension. A competitive salary is available which will be paid via Hays on a weekly basis.
