Monitor the effectiveness of the SHE Policy, recommend changes where appropriate and ensure practices which are potentially hazardous are brought to the attention of management
Advise Senior Management on all legal requirements relating to SHE at work, maintain the site accident record systems and notify relevant authorities as necessary
Monitor the investigation and review of accidents and statistics pertaining to such with the management, and ensure corrective action is applied and assessed
Conduct Risk Assessments
Ensure that through a risk assessment and job safety analysis based approach, all SHE issues are eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level in the area of responsibility
Ensure the induction of all new team members and promote SHE thinking with on-going training in SHE and Fire matters in line with current legislation and company policy
Overall responsibility for controlling all SHE costs associated with training and the purchase and maintenance of equipment
Continually research, review and recommend new opportunities to improve SHE and training practices
Keep up to date with best practice in the manufacturing environment to ensure competitiveness (benchmarking)
On an adhoc basis, support the Engineering function with any administrative duties that need completing in the absence of key Engineering personnel
Skills & Experience Required:
- Ability to develop and apply SHE policies
- Administration experience including budgetary control
- Good attention to detail, planning and organisational skills.
- Prioritisation and good time management skills required to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work well under pressure, be team focused, influential, flexible, a strong communicator and confident
- Work ethically and with integrity
