With its head office based in the North West and operations in NI, ROI and UK they are keen to secure a dynamic and commercial Group Financial Controller.
Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Director the Group Financial Controller will lead, manage and develop the Finance Team ensuring timely and efficient processing of financial transactions and provision of high quality information for performance reporting. This is a true business partnering opportunity where you will operate as part of the senior management team. As the Group Financial Controller, your key responsibilities will be to provide accounting and regulatory outputs as part of the senior management team. You will also be involved in developing effective working relationships to deliver professional financial support and guidance to staff, senior managers and the directors. Alongside this you will produce comprehensive accounts including budgeting and forecasting and develop full profit and loss accountability.
This role will involve the production of monthly management and financial accounts as well as annual statutory and year-end accounts. It will also involve reviewing and implementing internal controls within the organisation, which includes the co-ordination and performance of internal audit. You will also be accountable for the supervision of accounting staff and will assist with advising and training team members and providing technical support as well as identifying training needs.
As Group Financial Controller you will be responsible for agreeing and delivering all annual overhead budgets, Capex spend, tracking costs and working with budget holders to optimise best use of financial resources. Responsible for generating and analysing the firm's financial statements to ensure compliance with GAAP, preparing internal reports for budgeting control purposes as well as management reporting. You will be responsible for managing the duties related to corporate taxes and audits that include: assuring compliance with laws, coordinating tax payments to comply with due dates, working closely with outside firms to prepare statutory statements. You will manage closing and reporting processes, P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow, prepare monthly analysis of operating reports (T&E, Overheads, Inventory and Capex) and monitor against budgets, manage monthly, quarterly and annual accruals. You will also develop and implement financial/internal control processes and policies . Regular Cost Analysis and review to identify areas of improvement and review the financial statements and internal reports with Director to analyse the variances vs. budget and/or forecast.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years PQE ideally gained in a fast paced commercial environment. You will have strong Excel skills and excellent experience of managing people along with attention to detail. You will be driven, motivated and ambitious to progress in your career.
