Your new role
As Accounting Technician you will report to the Financial Controller assisting and supporting the local and global teams. This is a new role within the company and offers the opportunity to develop systems, establish processes and ensure day to day operations are delivered to a very high standard in a high-energy growth environment. You will assist the Financial Controller in providing a comprehensive and effective finance function and responsibilities include: sales ledger / purchase ledger; general ledger maintenance including journal postings; bank and cash reconciliations; develop and maintain fixed asset register; assist in the preparation of VAT and other statutory returns; assist with end of month and end of year accounts procedures; provide ad-hoc finance support to other functions within the Group; preparation of internal budget variance analysis reports and development, implementation and audit of finance SOPs. Other duties will include: support development of QMS and procedures; support business development processes; help integration of business systems and processes; support business improvement initiatives; liaise with consulting and digital teams on ad-hoc matters and general office management support.
What you'll need to succeed
* Qualified Accounting Technician
* 3+ years' experience in a fast-paced finance function with similar duties
* Working knowledge of finance/accounting packages
* Proficient in the use of MS Office, particularly Excel
* Structured and disciplined approach to work
* Excellent communication & organisational skills
* Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
* Thrives in both individual and collaborative team environments
