LOOKING TO KICKSTART A CAREER AS A WELDER?
South West College (SWC) in conjunction with the Department for the Economy are offering an opportunity for 24 individuals to receive industry standard welding training that will provide them with the skills to take up potential welding roles with companies in Dungannon and the surrounding area.
The participating companies are:-
- Edge Innovate (NI) Ltd, Dungannon
- Nugent Engineering, Dungannon
- Specdrum Ltd, Dungannon
- Terex, Dungannon
- Northern Hydraulics Ltd, Coalisland
- Strickland Ireland, Coalisland
- Steelweld Fabrications Ltd, Cookstown
- Dawson’s Manufacturing & Engineering, Craigavon
The Academy will be delivered in two six week cohorts as follows:
- Cohort 1- Monday 14th June to Friday 23rd July 2021*
- Cohort 2- Monday 26th July 2021 to Friday 3 September 2021*
*Please note these cohorts and their dates may be subject to cancelation or change due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
Successful participants will be enrolled into one of the two cohorts above and attend a six week intensive training course delivered by SWC a dedicated training facility in Cookstown where they will study ETCAL Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations and Certified Abrasive Wheels Training. Following completion of the training, participants will be guaranteed an interview to take up a welding position at one of the participating companies above. All applicants must be at least 18 years old (by Monday 14th June 2021 for cohort 1; or 26th July 2021 for cohort 2) and currently eligible to work in the UK.
