A main contractor specialising in the construction of both social and private housing developments are now recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor. Hays Construction and Property have been retained by a vibrant, rapidly expanding, family-run contracting business to source a Quantity Surveyor. They are operating with a turnover of approx. £30m, and are experiencing consistent growth having recently picked up numerous new contracts both in ROI and NI. Due to this growth they now require a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
Your new role
Within your new role you will manage projects worth up to £20m in the commercial and residential sector. You will be responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects including; subcontractors, procurement, risk and opportunity management, and cost control. Additionally you will be responsible for the production and management of scheme budgets, monthly valuations, cash flow forecasts and CVR's. Working within an integral part of the business, you will report directly to the Director and work closely with the Operational Team, ensuring projects are delivered on programme and within budget.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be degree-educated with at least 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor, ideally with experience of producing housing projects. Experience in operating NEC3/JCT/ICE/PWCF2 with design and build options is essential, as well as proficient use of Excel. As a person you will be self-motivated, commercially astute and have the desire to progress within their role to enable progression within the company.
