Grafton Procurement and Supply are working in partnership with an established manufacturer in Portadown to recruit for an experienced materials planner. This is a temporary role for a minimum of 6 months.
The successful materials planner will report to the materials team lead and will be responsible for providing suppliers with accurate scheduled orders and forecast requirements to meet production needs. As materials planner, you will coordinate the delivery of materials from suppliers and to control and reduce inventory levels, identifying areas of inventory reduction. Additional duties will include
- Issuing purchase orders and shipping schedules to the supplier via SRM
- Ensuring parts are shipped/delivered on time
- Processing all special project requirements
- Recover costs from supplier due to quality issues
- Assist in resolving discrepancies
- Liaising with all areas of Supply Chain, Suppliers, Manufacture Plants and Engineers to ensure new parts are sourced, ordered and shipped
In order to be successful, you will have a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role. Preference will be given to candidates who, as well as the above, hold a third level qualification. Excellent communication and IT skills essential.
