First Choice is currently recruiting a Workshop/Modification Technician for their client based in Lisburn.
As a Workshop/Modification Technician you will be responsible for the modification, repair, reconditioning of manual and powered wheelchairs.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Modification of manual and powered wheelchairs as requested by Trust Medical Technical Officers and Occupational Therapists as per their requests
Repair, service and recondition manual and powered wheel chairs and their sub components in accordance with original equipment specification and quality.
Coordinate, in conjunction with Senior Stock controller, all parts requirements for completion of modifications repairs and servicing.
Coordinate all scheduled workshop job requests from customers via our administration department ensuring tight deadlines are achieved.
Completion of planned preventative maintenance on workshop powered equipment repairs, and completion of pre delivery inspections on all powered equipment, including Earth bond and visual safety check, calibration and programming of Powered wheelchair control systems. Via use of suppliers software.
Ensure all relevant documentation is completed in accordance with current ISO Procedures.
Work to fixed Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)
Ensure all client equipment is handled in accordance with ISO procedures.
Report all issues, adverse situations, and product feedback to the Operational Supervisor and/or Regional Manager
Periodically deliver and handover equipment to clients in the field and carry out modifications and repairs as and when required.
· 2 years’ experience working in a mechanical/electrical/repairs role
· ONC in electrical/mechanical engineering or equivalent
· Knowledge on the use of welding equipment
· Competent in the use of workshop equipment
· Computer literate
· Full clean driving licence
The suitable candidate for this position must have excellent team working skills, be planned and organised with excellent communication skills. The hours of work are 8.00am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
