Assets Assistant required by a Housing Association to assist in the delivery of response and planned works
Your new company
The services of Hays have been retained by our client, an established Housing Association, to recruit an Assets Assistant on a temporary contract basis for an initial period of 6 months with the possibility of further extension. Our client is a growing Housing Association that are working hard to provide suitable homes for tenants and are actively developing new homes across the province.
Your new role
Reporting to the Assets Manager, you will act as the first point of contact when tenants and other customers contact the assets team and deal with initial enquiries. Your main duties will include:
Operate the repairs helpdesk taking calls and responding to email requests for response repairs jobs;
Providing advice on the Association's policies regarding response repairs and maintenance;
Raising response repairs works orders using correct contract coding systems and issuing to works contractors; Making response repair appointments with contractors;
Monitoring technical appointments and providing tenants and customers with updates;
Processing contractor invoices and approving spend within delegated approval limits.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position you must possess:
Excellent IT skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications;
Basic working knowledge of statutory maintenance and/or willing to undertake formal training and development; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to analyse data and prepare reports to management.
Ideally you will possess:
Working knowledge of the property maintenance process;
Experience of working in a property maintenance department;
A qualification in a relevant Construction, Property or Housing related subject.
