We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a large Housing Association based in the Antrim area to recruit a Maintenance Officer on an ongoing temporary contract.
Your new role
Working within the existing team you will be involved with overseeing the response maintenance of a patch of properties, with your main duties including:
To respond directly to tenants queries regarding maintenance by telephone and/or by personal visits;
To inspect, where necessary, defects or repairs reported to the office, identifying the reason for the problem and ensuring it is repaired within the proper response time;
To liaise with contractors to ensure problems are dealt with quickly and effectively;
To monitor the performance of contractors;
Monitor the progression of repairs, ensuring that they are managed within cost;
Approving invoices once the work has been completed;
To carry out Change of Tenancy Inspections for properties ensuring void properties are returned ready to let at the earliest opportunity.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you should possess the following skills / experience:
Good general construction knowledge, ideally within property maintenance;
Experience dealing with contractors;
Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft suite of packages;
Ability to produce letters and reports using such;
Ability to relate to residents/tenants;
Practical common sense approach to problem solving.
What you'll get in return
This position offers an immediate start and the opportunity to work with a large Housing Association based in Antrim on a temporary contract basis. You will be paid on a weekly basis via BACS transfer through Hays with mileage expenses being reimbursed.
