Commercial Litigation – Solicitor, Belfast. (3/4 PQE). Our client is a boutique specialist commercial, technology, IP and media law practice based in Belfast City Centre. They currently have a vacancy for a Commercial Litigation Solicitor to join its busy team.
Providing legal assistance and support to a litigation team which provides advice on contentious commercial law issues to a range of commercial clients within industry (including manufacturing, design and creative), services, retail and media; to include general commercial contractual disputes, protecting and enforcing intellectual property rights, defending against infringement actions, managing reputations and dealing with employment issues.
The team is frequently involved in litigation before the High Court, industrial tribunals, EUIPO and UKIPO tribunals. The firm is also involved in dispute resolution through arbitration and mediation.
The ideal candidate will be a confident and enthusiastic commercial litigation solicitor at approx. 3-4 yrs PQE However we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfil this kind of work. Specifically, they are seeking a solicitor with hands on exposure to cases before the High Court and day to day understanding of commercial litigation cases. A reasonably good working knowledge of intellectual property and media law will be considerably valuable in a role of this nature.
The successful candidate will be required to provide direct assistance and support to senior solicitors on a variety of high-end work and will also be working closely with directors. They will additionally be expected to carry their own caseload under supervision from a senior solicitor and to liaise directly with clients and counsel.
Newly qualified solicitors will also be considered for this role depending on experience. The candidate will be willing to learn about the most up to date European and UK case law and information, and will assist in sharing this with the wider team through their contribution to departmental know-how. a guide to the minimum level of experience required.
