We are currently recruiting for an Events Officer for the Belfast area. This will be a full-time temporary role, Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. This vacancy is a temporary ongoing role. Due to the nature of the role some evening and weekend work will be required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
-Manage the delivery of a programme of large scale promotional events, either directly or in conjunction with partner organisations
-Ensure effective running of the Cultural, Heritage and Language programmes and workshops, including interpretative information, education packs press releases. Develop annual and seasonal action plans
-Work in partnership with other organisations, external agencies, Councils and Government Departments and represent the Ulster-Scots Agency giving advice on appropriate external organising committees with a remit for developing and promoting cultural/heritage/language projects and programmes ensuring all opportunities are acted upon. This includes the drafting, proofing and managing the return of partnership agreements and terms of references
-Maintain accurate project files and contract additions
-Initiate, develop and promote relationships with community groups to deliver a broad spectrum of programming and events that increase opportunity to access and participation in performances, workshops and cultural days
-Identify and create a business case for and if approved, manage the Agency's attendance at suitable development opportunities/lead generation events
-Manage all pre-event planning e.g. organise speakers and delegate packs
-Produce post-event evaluation to inform future events
-Contribute to the performance of the Development Team to ensure key performance indicators for the department are achieved
- Applicants must hold GCSES grade A-C in English Language and Maths
-All applicant must hold a third level qualification (*Post A-Level) in a relevant discipline and a minimum of three years' event and/or project management experience OR Applicants who do not hold the relevant third level qualification must have a minimum of five years' event and/or project management experience
-Excellent IT skills with previous proven experience of working with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint in a business context
-Experience of effectively managing budgets
-Previous extensive experience of communicating to a variety of audiences in an appropriate style both written and oral
-Flexibility to cope with several jobs simultaneously and to strict deadlines
-Applicants must have a driving licence and have access to a car for business purposes.
