Hays are working with one of the most sought-after consultancies within the UK, they are recruiting for a civil engineer within their water team. The water team deliver projects for clients including water companies such as Northern Ireland Water and local government. Working closely with their multi-disciplinary colleagues they are involved in a wide variety of projects ranging from drainage design, water treatment works improvements, pumping stations, reservoirs, sewer overflows, and flooding schemes.
Your new role
They are seeking a Civil Engineer to join the team in Belfast. You will work primarily on water and drainage projects, helping to deliver projects for clients including Northern Ireland Water, and local councils. The role will involve undertaking design, project management and consulting services within the water business to enhance the team's portfolio of skills and expertise. You will have the opportunity to support advisory services such as strategic planning, regulatory advice, asset optimisation, advising on delivery of efficient capital programmes and developing/applying transformational digital solutions.
Request and interrogate survey information and use hydraulic knowledge to undertake root cause analysis of known problems in the drainage or sewer network. Prepare design calculations, reports and specifications to support their designs. Develop skills in hydraulic modelling and connect to specialist modelling teams for use in solution development. Imaginatively develop solutions to bring about the desired efficiencies. Prepare and produce outline design and construction drawings. Act as delegated Project Manager, working with the project lead on agreed management aspects Liaise with Clients, other groups and members of the delivery team.

What you need to succeed
You should have appropriate experience with the above type of work and be recently or approaching chartered status. You will also require a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Civil Engineering (or similar)
