Hays are working in partnership with a recognised Public Body Client to recruit for a Programme Manager to lead and manage sub-sections of the Network Engineering Project Management team in the development and delivery of a broad range of projects. With around 3,800 employees across various locations throughout the province, this company is one of Northern Ireland's largest employers who has 50+ years' experience in providing quality services throughout Northern Ireland. Due to a consistent pipeline of work leading into 2021, this organisation now seeks a Project Manager to join their growing team.
Your new role
You will effectively manage sub-sections of the Network Engineering delivery team, in addition to manage PRP, sickness and absence within the team. You will plan the programme, in conjunction with the Project Assurance Office, and proactively monitor its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action. You would also lead and manage the external and internal stakeholder expectations. This includes statutory authorities, local community groups and interested political groups. You will ensure effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the programme - focusing on planning, interfaces with other programmes and corporate, technical and specialist standards. You will manage the Programme's budget on behalf of the Head of Renewals, monitoring expenditure and costs against delivered and realised benefits. Ensuring the delivery of projects is to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the programme plan and programme governance arrangements.

What you need to succeed
A Minimum of 3 years' Project Management experience in the successful management and delivery of major projects and programming works in railway based civil engineering projects and permanent way projects You will need experience of managing budgets and reporting on these within a busy civil engineering projects office. You will require a degree (or equivalent) in a Construction or Engineering related discipline and possess or willing to work towards Chartered membership within a Civil Engineering or Construction industry.
