Mechanical Design Engineer - Co. Antrim - New Company

We are seeking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join one of Northern Ireland newest and most exciting Engineering Manufacturing firms. Our client is a new venture who provide innovative engineering solutions to the drilling and mining sector. Based in Co. Antrim and with a presence in Australia our client is set to be one of the most desirable employers for Engineers in the province. You will work from their custom-built production and office facility in greater Belfast.


Your new role
As the new Mechanical Design Engineer you will join a growing team and report to the Design Team Leader and Engineering Manager. Working in an R&D function you will seek to find creative solutions to complex engineering issues. You will be responsible for the design and development of welded structures, sheet metal components and mechanical systems using SolidWorks software. In this important role you will be tasked with conducting advanced mechanical calculations to substantiate design. As the Design Engineer you will manage the control of engineering data through BOMs and ERP/MRP systems. While in your role you will frequently conduct cross-function design reviews.


What you'll need to succeed
To secure this exciting new Mechanical Design Engineers role you should be coming with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related subject and have 3 years industry experience designing heavy mobile equipment. You should have strong technical skills with SolidWorks, knowledge of FEA and strong communication skills.
