Hays are currently working in partnership with a a specialist geotechnical engineering consultancy based in Belfast City Centre to recruit for a Geotechnical Engineer. This consultancy are known for providing innovative geotechnical solutions across a broad range of civil engineering sectors. They are actively involved in a range of international infrastructure projects including harbours/marinas, offshore oil/gas installations, onshore and offshore wind farms, commercial structures and basements. Their clients include large civil and building contractors, project developers and engineering consulting firms.
Your new role
As a Geotechnical Engineer you will be part of and have an opportunity to lead a team of quality geotechnical engineers with a wealth of knowledge between them. Within infrastructure, the role would include road and railway network design including preliminary design for planning applications, detailed design and post-construction monitoring. The role will include starting at initial concept design and continuing to project completion.
The role would include liaison and management of/with CAD team, juniors, GIS teams. On a regular basis the right candidate will liase with clients as well as take on a project management position including invoicing and bidding.
What you'll need to succeed
You will require a degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology with a minimum of 4 years experience within the sector. You will a willingness to take on willingness to take on PM responsibility,
Some degree of geotechnical design experience and willingness to learn new elements would be beneficial with SI knowledge and design. You will be experienced in Report writing and have a familiarity with planning work / EIA writing / environmental impacts and a familiarity of onshore wind / renewables / roads and infrastructure in general
