Hays are working in partnership with a recognised Public Body Client to recruit for an Earthworks Manager to be the key point of contact within the Structures Department for all earthworks related project technical/design queries . This is an exciting role with a premium client that will provide you with the chance to shape Northern Ireland's transport network in a major way. Due to a consistent pipeline of work leading into 2021 and beyond, this organisation now seeks an Earthworks Manager.
Your new role
The Earthworks Manager will ensure that regular examinations are completed at the required intervals and comprehensive reports are provided to show asset condition and/or capacity. The Earthworks Manager will evaluate available asset information and carry out assessments where necessary on these assets and identify intervention measures to inform both maintenance and capital requirements. You will ensure that assets remain suitable including management of those areas deemed at risk during adverse weather conditions. You will also be involved in the technical input and liaison as Project Engineer for the Structures Department, providing input and guidance to capital projects being managed by the Renewals Department and on relevant Third-Party Works schemes.

What you need to succeed
Qualified to Degree level in Civil/ Structural Engineering or equivalent in a relevant construction related degree.
You will require a minimum of 3 years' design or construction/maintenance experience resulting in the successful delivery and implementation of earthworks projects and programmes in the construction industry. Experience in examination/inspection, assessment, design, and construction of earthworks assets. Ability to understand and implement earthwork examination/inspection and assessment procedures and the ability to analyse examination/inspection findings and project data.
