Large housing association have an immediate requirement for a qualified Town Planner on a long term contract.
Your new company
This organisation is the largest affordable housing body in Northern Ireland with c.90,000 homes across the country. Based in central Belfast this organisation requires a Town Planning professional to join them on a temporary basis initially for 3 months but may extend to assist with their Land Asset Site Investigation study.
Your new role
Based in Belfast City Centre, you will work within a team of planning and estate management professionals reporting to the Head of Land and Housing Analytics to provide an effective town planning service & contribute to land asset management activities.
The main duties of the role are to provide a professional town planning service for the organisation and contribute to the LASI project.
Land Asset Management, with emphasis on identification & evaluation to assist:
- Land Asset Site Identification studies
- Classification and update of the Undeveloped Land Schedule
- Estate studies
- Sites suitable for social housing or mixed use/mixed tenure
Identification of suitable sites for housing and preparation of feasibility reports and outline planning applications as required.
Provide a town planning service for the organisation by providing feasibility of sites as required.
Represent the section when necessary to both internal and external stakeholders.
Liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders eg Regional Planning, DPG, Housing Associations, Planning Service and Roads Service.
What you'll need to succeed
Candidates must have a post graduate qualification that is RTPI accredited, or an equivalent qualification which is accredited by an appropriate professionally recognised organisation e.g. IPI or RICS (P&D).
Candidates must have at least one year relevant post graduate experience.
Candidates should have access to a form of transport which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
Housing related experience
Experience of site identification and site assessment
Experience of land asset management
Experience of GIS and demonstration of proficiency in the use of GIS for planning projects

This is an immediate requirement offering a suitable candidate the opportunity to start at short notice. You will be paid between £11.98 to £14.63 per hour depending on experience, with paid annual entitlement. Working hours will be Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.
