Hays Recruitment have been retained by a leading main contractor in their recruitment of a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial Team. Established over 40 years ago, my client has undertaken, and successfully delivered, an impressive range of contracts across the UK and Ireland. Operating with a turnover of over £150m, they maintain a strong presence in the construction industry in NI and even further afield. With projects in the education, healthcare, commercial and residential sectors, they have been responsible for projects up to £50m in value. This contractor is experiencing significant growth and therefore is in search for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

Your new role
Reporting to the Commercial Director you will have commercial responsibility as the lead QS on a large £16m build project based in Belfast. Working closely with the Procurement and Operational Team you will ensure the project is delivered within budget and on programme.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be degree educated in Quantity Surveying, and will have ideally at least 8 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role working on large value projects. Strong commercial attitude and excellent communication skills are essential, as you will be dealing with sub-contractors and clients on a daily basis. You will be commercially aware and have the drive and ability to deal with complex projects independently. You will spend 4 days per week on site in Belfast, and 1 day at Head Office in Newry.
