Response Assets Officer required by a large Housing Association in Belfast on a permanent basis

The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a Housing Association based in Belfast, to recruit a Response Assets Officer on a permanent basis. Our client are an established and growing Housing Association that are working hard to provide suitable homes for tenants and are actively developing new homes across the province.
Your new role
Reporting to the Response Assets Manager, your main duties will include:
Action and monitor repair requests to enable repairs to be completed within timescale;
Identify works required and issue works orders;
Implement and administer the requirements of measured term maintenance contracts and participate in joint procurement of those contracts;
Participate in appraisal of performance of contractors and take action to ensure excellent customer service; Undertake sampling of repair requests and action matters arising. Pick up repair trends and feed back to the Planned assets and Development teams to assist Design Guide and future planned works;
Carry out void inspections and prepare / issue repairs required to ensure a quick turnaround of properties;
Carry out regular Stock condition surveys/ use of Keystone tablet.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position you must possess:
Two years' experience (within the last seven years) within a construction / facilities / maintenance environment AND a third level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant construction/facilities/maintenance environment. Exceptional candidates who do not hold a third level qualification but have five years' experience (within the last seven years) within a construction/ facilities/maintenance environment should also apply.
Additionally, you must possess:
Experience of contract management including supervision of contracts;
Practical experience of delivering a front facing customer focused service;
Possess good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to negotiate;
Ability to organise and prioritise varied workload to meet deadlines/targets;
Ability to use initiative and work with limited supervision;
Able to demonstrate a commitment to providing a customer focused service;
Able to demonstrate a methodical approach and attention to detail;
Able to work as part of a team and build collaborative working relationships;
Complete proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel & Powerpoint.
