Hays are working in partnership with a local Public Body to recruit a Protection & Assurance Co-Ordinator to join their Infrastructure & Projects team based in Belfast. With around 3,800 employees across various locations throughout the province, this client is one of Northern Ireland's largest employers. Due to a strong order book throughout 2021 and expansion within the Network Assurance & Safety division, they are now seeking a Protection & Assurance professional to complete the team.

Your new role

This is a permanent position within the company's Network Assurance & Safety division based out of Belfast, reporting to the Network Assurance & Safety Manager. In this role, you will oversee, plan and coordinate access to Infrastructure & construction schemes to allow works to take place safely in accordance with the relevant standards and procedures. You will support the management team in carrying out technical, safety and competence management processes throughout projects. You will be tasked with continuously driving safety improvements for the planning and protection of all construction & engineering works on each project.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered successful for this position, you must have proven experience in a safety critical role with previous experience carrying out risk assessments or competence management assessments. You will have sound working knowledge of safety processes & safety management systems with experience in the construction industry advantageous.

Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills will be key for this role with an ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
