Housing Officer required by a large Housing Association for 5-6 weeks with the possibility of extension
Your new company
The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a large Housing Association based in Belfast, to recruit a Housing Officer on a temporary contract basis for an initial period of 5-6 weeks with the possibility of further extension.
Your new role
Working within the existing team, your main duties will include:
Record and investigate all complaints regarding tenancy matters;
Liaise with community groups and actively promote community involvement and participation;
Consult tenants on issues that will affect their tenancy;
Monitor rent calculations and advise tenants/residents of changes within the required timescales;
Monitor and action rent accounts in accordance with the Associations policy ensuring rental income due is collected and department targets are met;
Liaise with external agencies to maximise rental income;
Operate the appropriate Selection Scheme in accordance with guidelines, providing information to applicants and transfers and liaising with appropriate bodies as necessary;
Undertake accompanied viewings and sign up new tenants;
Update Termination of Tenancy information and liaise with the Maintenance Officer to ensure properties are let as quickly as possible;
Undertake Change of Tenancy inspections in line with the Associations policy.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you must satisfy the following essential criteria:
Possess a third level qualification or Educated to A Level standard or equivalent with a professional Housing qualification with 1 years' experience working in a social housing management setting. Alternatively, you should be educated to A Level standard or equivalent with 2 years' experience in a Housing Officer role (social housing management experience).
Additionally, Your Experience Should Include
Knowledge of current social housing policy and issues;
Skilled in business use of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint;
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team;
Ability to relate to residents and public;
Good communication skills, both oral and written;
Be able to demonstrate the ability to plan and organise workload and meet deadlines;
Good organisational skills.

This position offers an immediate start and the opportunity to work with a large Housing Association based in Belfast. Whilst this role is offered for an initial period of 5-6 weeks, there is the possibility for further extension. You will be paid on a weekly basis via BACS transfer through Hays with mileage expenses being reimbursed also.
