Development Officer required by an established Housing Association based in Belfast
Your new company
The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a Housing Association based in Belfast, to recruit a Development Officer on a contract basis for an initial period of 12 months with the possibility of further extension.
Our client has a busy development programme and are actively involved in building affordable homes across Northern Ireland.
Your new role
Reporting to the Development Manager, you will play a key role in delivering the Association's annual development programme. You will oversee new build, refurbishment and rehabilitation housing projects on behalf of the Association to ensure schemes are delivered on programme and within budget.
This will include the following:
Attending new scheme consultation, planning, progress review and design team meetings;
Fulfilling a Project Management role as client representative during the new build construction phase and on housing refurbishment and rehabilitation projects;
Carrying out regular site visits in conjunction with the Association's Clerk of Works and design team to ensure queries are efficiently addressed and that the scheme is delivered on time and to the required specification and quality standards;
Undertaking snagging and quality inspections in conjunction with the Association's Clerk of Works and design team.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you must possess:
A Third Level Qualification in a construction related discipline with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience;
A working knowledge of the NI Building Regulations and construction technical detailing;
Awareness of Public Procurement Regulations;
Working knowledge of NEC3 Form of Contract;
Working knowledge of Design & Build procedure.
