Construction Project Manager required by a large public body to oversee the delivery of building projects
Your new company
The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a multi-disciplinary construction consultancy, to recruit a Construction Project Manager (Building Projects) on an ongoing temporary contract basis for an initial period of 6 months with the possibility of further extension.
You will be seconded to and work exclusively with a large public body and will have responsibility for managing a wide range of building and property projects from inception to closure.
Your new role
Working within the existing team, you will assist in the delivery of projects which will include:
Define project requirements and scope and prepare Project Briefs;
Develop and maintain Project Execution Plans;
Manage and integrate design process through to Construction Support development of project Business Case (Economic Appraisal);
Develop project budget costs and contingency (risk allowance) and manage through project life cycle;
Develop project schedule and critical path;
Develop and maintain project Risk Register and Issues Log;
Input into the monthly projects progress reports on cost, quality, schedule, health and safety, risk;
Carry out Site Inspections to assure compliance with progress, quality, safety and environmental requirements;
Participate in Gateway Reviews and Post Project Evaluations.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you should possess:
Approximately 3-5 years' experience in managing building or multi-discipline construction projects;
Experience in NEC3 Professional service;
Sound knowledge and experience of project management methodologies and documentation;
Experience in managing construction contracts;
Proven experience in managing project budgets and schedules;
Construction or Engineering related bachelor degree e.g. Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity/Building Surveying.
