Construction Project Manager required to oversee the delivery of building projects for a government client
Your new company
The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a multi-disciplinary construction consultancy, to recruit a Construction Project Manager (Building Projects) on an ongoing temporary contract basis with the possibility of this leading to a permanent role.
Your new role
Working within the existing team, you will assist in the delivery of projects from start to completion which will include:
Having full responsibility for the management of quality, programme, cost on assigned projects;
Forecasting and monitoring the financial performance of projects, giving regular reports, comparing actual and forecast performance to plan expectations and explaining variations;
Maintaining detailed project records to monitor performance of projects;
Authorising Project Expenditure as delegated by the contract within Project Budgets;
Acting decisively to rectify any adverse circumstances that threaten the achievement of the financial plan or the quality and programme agreed with the client;
Maintaining regular liaison with all stakeholders on the progress of projects, issuing regular progress reports; Identifying budgetary and programme issues that need to be addressed with the client to ensure their satisfaction and ensure that agreed key performance indicators are met.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you should possess:
An undergraduate degree (Level 6) in a construction related discipline;
Chartered membership of a relevant institution or be an associated member and actively working towards Charted membership within the next 12 months (e.g ICE, RICS, RIBA);
NEC 3 & 4 Project Manager Accreditation or Module 2 of the ICE Law and Contract Management Examination or registered and/or working towards the qualification;
Computer literacy, conversant with MS Office suite and MS Project;
Knowledge of financial and contract management control systems;
Experience of delivering Project Management Services on projects with a construction value of more than £250,000.
