Assets Officer (response maintenance) required by a large Housing Association based in Belfast

The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a large Housing Association based in Belfast, to recruit an Assets Officer (response maintenance) on a temporary contract basis. The role will initially run for a period of 3 months with the possibility of further extension.
With properties throughout Northern Ireland, our client offers affordable housing solutions to a range of service users, from general needs housing for individuals and families to sheltered housing for elderly residents.
Your new role
Reporting to the Assets Manager, you will assist in the delivery of a customer focussed response maintenance service to the Associations properties.
Your main duties will include:
Complete technical inspections and issue works orders to facilitate property relets;
Carry out pre and post repair checks of all repair items reported;
Carry out void property checks on a timely basis;
Monitor and report on Contractor and Consultant performance;
Check and authorise invoices for work undertaken;
Supervise works on site, authorise and accept completed works.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position you must possess the following:
Third level qualification (e.g. HNC, HND, Degree) in an Estate Management/ Building Surveying/ Construction/ Engineering related discipline with 1 years' experience, OR;
A minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent to include English and Maths grade C or above with 3 years role related practical experience (in the last 5 years) administering maintenance contracts in a housing environment.
Your experience should include:
Technical experience of maintenance of large buildings and/or housing estates;
Understanding of public procurement procedures;
Understanding of social housing;
Hold a full valid driving licence with access to a car.
