Graduate Recruitment Consultant
Not your regular office job
When people think about working in an office, they think about being stuck behind a desk with a 9-5 job. In recruitment you are constantly talking to new people, meeting clients and going to events. This isn't your typical office job. It is all about building and maintaining relationships.
Joining the team, you will have support from people with vast experience as well as people who have only started. Talking to people who have only recently started can be a benefit as they have been in your situation and know what type of questions you will ask and where you need help. The senior staff will be able to share their experiences and what they have learnt in their years in recruitment. No matter what level, all our consultants support our team to help everyone learn and become experts in their field. It is a very open environment where there are no silly questions.
The ability to progress in recruitment is like no other job. It doesn't matter how long you have been in the business. It is all about how hard you work. If you have the drive, resilience and are motivated to work hard then you can climb the career ladder very fast. In this industry you get out what you put in.
If you are someone who gets bored of doing the same repetitive tasks daily, then this could be the right job for you. No two days are ever the same here. You could be meeting graduates one minute and then out for dinner with the CEO of a company the next day. Recruitment is an exciting job that constantly throws new situations your way. This is a challenging job that will test your drive but will bring with it, great rewards. If you are always looking for a new challenge, this will continue to bring you one.
Competitive Salary and Commissions
In this industry salaries are very competitive. You have the chance to earn very highly from day 1 of your recruitment career. The harder you work, the more rewards you will see. The commission is uncapped so this means that there is no limit to what you make. This is one of the main reasons people get in to recruitment. In terms of graduate roles, it can be one of the highest paid roles.
Recruitment can be a high-pressured job, so we always make sure to find a balance and enjoy ourselves and our job. At MCS we often have team events, Friday drinks in the office and network meet ups. People in recruitment are known for being friendly, talkative and energetic and this is definitely the case at MCS. It is an environment where everyone speaks to all teams and we often get together for staff events and activities.
From my own personal experience, I have never dreaded going in to work on a Monday as I have done in many other jobs. After work on Fridays we have office drinks and often head out together afterwards. You will work with people who you want to socialise with not just in work but outside of work as well. Recruitment seems to be a role that people fall in to. We have recruiters here from all different backgrounds, from communication, law, history, accountancy to medical. We look for people who are driven, love working towards targets, have excellent communication skills and aren't afraid to put themselves out there. It is a hard job filled with ups and downs, but the rewards are high.
If this sounds like you and you would like to find out more about the role, please feel free to contact me. I would be happy to discuss the role with you and answer any questions you may have.
