SALARY: £48,829 - £53,518 (under review)
DEPARTMENT: Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute Northern Ireland (AFBI)
LOCATION: AFBI Headquarters, Newforge Lane, Belfast, BT9 5PX
AFBI is seeking an enthusiastic, internationally recognised individual to lead a programme of economics based research on agricultural commodity markets and trade. The post-holder will have the opportunity to progress an established modelling system which is currently delivering key evidence for the UK’s devolved administrations with regard to EU exit , as well as develop new approaches, to build up their own programme. The individual will join a growing team of economists in AFBI who have an increasing role in influencing both AFBI, governmental and industrial policies and strategies. AFBI’s expertise spans key areas of agriculture, animal and veterinary science as well as the environment, fisheries and food. As such the individual will have the opportunity to develop and deliver on a multi-disciplinary programme through integration with AFBI’s science base as well as its network of partners.
