Maintenance Manager / PM required by a Housing Association for 6 months to oversee refurbishment works

The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a Housing Association based in Belfast, to recruit a Planned Maintenance Officer/Contracts Manager on a temporary contract basis, imagined to run for 4-6 months in the first instance, with the possibility for extension.
Your new role
Your main duties will include:
Advise the Housing Management department of the due date of practical completion of planned and ongoing cyclical maintenance schemes;
Ensure that all required commissioning and handover documentation is provided on completion of projects, including all Operation and Maintenance manuals, as-built drawings, log books, asset schedules and User Guides if required;
Develop specifications and oversee the tender process in line with procedures and statutory regulations;
Develop effective budgetary control techniques to ensure optimum value for money is achieved and assist in the preparation of budget submissions;
Monitor project progress;
Apply effective and appropriate project management techniques to ensure works are carried out with agreed timescales, qualitative, procedural and financial parameters;
Manage the procurement, commissioning, scope of works, service provision and auditing planned maintenance activities from conception to completion;
Ensure that all stakeholders, client groups and external bodies are consulted with during the course of the works and kept up to date with progress using all forms of communications;
Liaise with all contractors and suppliers to ensure optimum service delivery in accordance with agreed service level agreements.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you must be able to demonstrate previous experience in managing planned maintenance contracts. Your technical construction experience, project management and contracts knowledge, coupled with complimentary softer skills including communication and negotiation will allow you to hit the ground running.
