Our Client, a Top 100 FCMG Group based in Belfast are keen to recruitment an Assistant Accountant responsible for general accounting and internal control including journal entry preparation, intercompany reconciliations, month-end closing activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. This role will also involve assisting in preparing the UK statutory accounts for a number of legal entities and liaising with external auditors, driving the process through to completion and sign-off.
Duties & Responsibilities:
-Accounting activity including journal entries, account reconciliation, and financial analysis.
-Complete monthly general ledger accounts, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations along with resolving open items.
-Month-end closing responsibilities ensuring accurate financial results are reported on a timely basis
-Intercompany accounting and reconciliation support
-Customer service: provide timely responses to internal and external inquiries.
-Assist in procedure development and recommend/implement process improvements..
-Prepare government reports/census forms.
-Provide support when required on maintenance of records for AP & AR.
-From time to time, you will be required to undertake other responsibilities/activities of a similar nature that fall within your capabilities.
-Qualified Accounting Technician with 2+ years of related professional experience within a manufacturing and/or shared services environment however Candidates with substantial experience gained without this qualification may be considered.
-Experience in accounting and financial systems (Experience in SAP desirable)
-Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly evidence of strong Excel Skills.
